The fourth and final installment of Meetings, the first story of the Equilibrium Saga, is now up. So, last week Ashton had an alarming introduction to a Unicorn. Can’t he ever get a break? Maybe he’ll finally get a few answers to the growing number of questions plaguing him. Come and find out.

Now that's an Angry bird! This is the view from the edge of Capitol Hill looking down at the Space Needle. Rumors have it that there are giant matching pigs in a glass house on the other side of the Sound on Bainbridge Island. My 6 year old is bouncing around wanting to see him launch, lol. Actually, that would be pretty cool :-)
Last week we left Ash with the sudden proof that others could see some of the strange creatures that had started to populate his world. But what do the creatures want? And does Ashton want to know? He may hate working in the lab, but does he really want to leave it?
How freaky would it be to have fairytales suddenly come to life one day? Sure, I would love to see a live, breathing unicorn, but boy would that upset my world view as I know it now! What about you? How would it change your life? Are you enjoying the story? Leave a note in the forums located in the Hub and let me know what you think. So, last night as I tossed and turned not being able to fall asleep, I came up with a great blog post. Isn’t that just the way of it? I really should have just gotten up and made notes of it at least, because now I’m stuck trying to remember what my super revved up brain had going.
So, there I am not able to sleep, so I plug in my head phones and turn on the latest Rooster Teeth pod cast. Now if you don’t know who Rooster Teeth is, they are the superb makers of the Machinima show, Red verses Blue. Which is totally hilarious, but definitely not toddler safe, so we don’t get to watch it as often as we would like. Or listen to the podcasts. Well, that was a big mistake. At least if I wanted to go to sleep. I only got to listen to 20 minutes before I had to turn it off because I was waking up the toddler, who had crawled into my bed, with all my laughing. So I put on an episode of RVB instead. Season 9 episode 15, The Sarcophagus. That episode is the most amazing eight minutes of excitement and perfect timing. What they can do I just find awe inspiring. The timing of the scene to the music that was made for it, is breathtaking for me. It invokes such an emotional, visceral response that I never get tired of watching it. That is what I ultimately want to accomplish with my writing. With my Valkyries (whom only some of you have met yet). Really with any story I tell. My dream is to touch someone like that. To make them feel that intense connection. To have the timing of my words to the music in their heads combine with exquisite, poignant strength. Something they will desire to re-experience. Then I will feel like I have made it. I will have succeeded. If any of you wish to check out Red versus Blue this is where you can find them. http://roosterteeth.com/archive/?sid=rvb&v=more So who do we get to meet this week? Do you think Ashton wants to find out? Do you? If he hates the lab so much maybe he should embrace the world that is out there. Not the safe one he has known.
:-) Come one! Come all! The first installment of The Equilibrium Saga is now posted. I hope you enjoy it :-) Just click that little button that says EQUILIBRIUM up top ^
Thank you for visiting :) Introducing The Equilibrium Saga.
Our world has turned dark. The sun may still shine bright but the vitality that brings forth life has gone out of harmony. The plants, animals, the energy of the very earth is sundering. We see it in all things. The weather: tornados, earthquakes, volcanoes. Migrations interrupted: swarms of butterflies landing and dying in fields that have never hosted them, whales beaching to gasp out their last breaths. But the most obvious, yet least noticed? Mankind’s abysmal treatment of one another. Quiet voices utter ‘the world as we know it is coming to an end’. If only they knew how true that was. For centuries the light of the Unicorns has slowly been eclipsed by the Nightmares’ darkness. Too much anger, hatred and fear, greed and pure evil have permeated the foundations of life. If the energy cannot be balanced then the world will consume itself in an ever quickening spiral, till nothing remains. Light or Dark. Do you like Myth and magic? Faeries and urban fantasy? Starting this Wednesday March 7th the Equilibrium Saga will release its first part. Every month I hope to release the entirety of a short story split into four parts, one part being released every Wednesday evening around 7 pm PST. I really hope I can stick to this schedule, but we’ll see. I may have to amend it if it is too challenging in combination with my everyday life. So please come back Wednesday evening for the start of ‘Meetings’, part 1 of my new webserial. So, my planned weekly post has turned into a monthly one. The concept of writing a regular blog is daunting. What does one talk about? And who really cares? Lol. Anyway here I am making the attempt.
I'm planning an episodic fantasy story that I can post and help fill up the gap, I hope. It will be on a seperate page from this one, so be on the look out. In other news, spring is here! (hope I haven't punched Murphy in the face with that one). We have crocus blooming in droves and vibrant pink flowers adorning several of the trees. Even the first leaves have burst on some of the bushes. Here's to hope of the promise in the new year. |
